January Alternate Birthstones

I hope everyone had an absolutely fabulous New Year celebration and wish you all a very prosperous 2009.

We are all familiar with the gorgeous reds of Mozambique garnets and the purplish red of Rhodolite, but did you know that garnets come in all colors? Blue is the most rare and also the most valuable. The reds, purples, oranges (spessartite, hessonite) and greens (tsavorite, grossular) are more frequently seen on the market today.

Haven't been here in a while. I'm used to blogging in a forum more like a chatroom so I guess I got a little discouraged when I posted here and received no comments but I'm back ~ better than ever. If you have a few minutes, please check out my first attempt at video promotion!

I'll try to keep my rants on topic but with an election coming up that might be a little difficult ☺.
